- The image of the harpist was originally due to be shot in a railway
station, but creative and logistical reasons saw the setting changed
to the more stylish backdrop of the Bank of England. Crowds of commuters
were expected to provide a counterpoint to the harpist playing serenely
amidst the hustle and bustle. Yet on the day, the City was strangely
quiet and so various members of the calendar team were co-opted to
walk on cue through the frame. The result was undoubtedly the most
popular image of the 1993 calendar. |
